REPORT ON CASE OF MR. A. PIKE.

Mr. A. Pike, Marine Engineer, working on the s.s.

"TUNG ON", plying between Canton and Hong Kong, was

the first European to contract Cholera. He was sud-

denly taken ill in the afternoon of 4th September, at

his residence in Kowloon a few hours after his arrival

from Canton.

He was in due course admitted to the Cholera Hosp-

i tal. He made a good recovery and was discharged on

the 12th September, 1937.
